It wasn’t too long ago that cannabis flower was sold in plastic baggies, edibles packaged in saran wrap, and vape cartridges all came in the same clear tube. Fast forward to today and you will find that all those cannabis products (and more) have evolved to beautifully branded boxes and childproof packaging, with The Bloom Brand as no exception to this cannabis makeover. Take a puff and stroll with us down memory lane as we reflect on some of the changes Bloom and the industry have gone through.

The Beginning

For The Bloom Brand that starts back in 2013 in Los Angeles. California was the first and only state Bloom vape was available in and the oil was made using CO2. The packaging design was plain and simple, and the only strain offered at this time was OG Kush.

Legal medical states then: CA, AZ, NM, WA, AK, OR, CO, NV, IL, MI, MT, MN, ME, NY, VT, NH, CT, RI, DE, MD.

Legal recreational states then: WA, OR, CO, AK.

Original Bloom states: CA

Original Bloom Strains: OG Kush

Extraction Evolved

As both the cannabis industry and Bloom began evolving, so did extraction methods. In search of a more efficient method, Bloom switched from CO2 to ethanol extraction and even developed their own equipment shortly after since nothing else was available on the market at the time. It was through this process and innovation that Capna Systems was born!

More Products

Bloom’s original product line started with the standard vape cartridges and disposable vape (Bloom One), and blossomed into other game changers such as the Bloom Drop and Bloom shatter.

More Strains

In 2017 Bloom also added 3 new strains to the Bloom vape fam; Grandaddy Purple (GDP), Maui Wowie (MW), and Pineapple Express (PEX) which won the NorCal Cannabis Cup in 2018! The addition of these strains brought Blooms total count to 10, ranging in a variety of sativa, hybrid, and indica.

Current Bloom Strains: Green Crack (GC), Jack Herer (JH), Super Lemon Haze (SLH), Maui Wowie (MW), GSC, Blue Dream (BD), Pineapple Express (PEX), King Louie (KNG), Skywalker OG (SKY), Grandaddy Purple (GDP).

More States

Just as Bloom’s strain family has grown, so have their communities! Bloom made a new home in Washington in 2017, New Mexico in 2018 and Nevada in 2019, with plans to expand to even more states in the near future.

Legal medical states now:  CA, AZ, NM, WA, AK, OR, CO, NV, IL, MI, MT, MN, ME, NY, VT, NH, CT, RI, DE, MD, FL, HI, LA, MO, NV, NJ, ND, OH, OK, UT, WV.

Legal recreational states now: WA, OR, NV, CO, AK, CA, MI, VT, MA, ME.

Current Bloom States: CA, WA, NM, NV.

Becoming Compliant

Perhaps the biggest change and challenge for the entire industry as a whole has been the regulation of cannabis and keeping products compliant with new state laws dictating the way. For Bloom this meant upgrading the packaging, which took a few trials to perfect to Blooms standards while also abiding by the state’s guidelines. As consequence, the packaging was forced to grow in size to accommodate all the new requirements.

Staying True to Our Roots

The most important thing to Bloom as a company! After a few trials and lots of hard work, Bloom finally upgraded its packaging to reflect the mission of creating quality cannabis oil that replicates true strain specific profiles, so that consumers can still enjoy their ‘high’ and experience, in a healthier manner. The new packaging emphasizes these strain-specific characteristics (and let’s be real- looks much more appealing than the original design:)).

Additionally, Bloom upgraded what’s inside the packaging! Blooms cartridges are now made of glass and ceramic, with improved hardware by ccell. And the unified, sleek appearance is more than just aesthetic; Bloom’s latest model also includes strain specific initials on the mouthpiece of each cartridge, making it much easier and practical to keep your King Louie vape separate from your Super Lemon Haze.

Future Plans for Bloom

The future of cannabis is still unknown, but one thing for certain is it is constantly changing. For this reason, Bloom is always looking for new ways to improve and innovate the vaping experience. For now, some of those plans include launching a new vaping device with even stronger power and precision. Bloom will probably drop a couple new strains and stop by a few new states along the way as well. ;)
