Situations to Avoid While High

Burnt eyelashes, pocket-dials to Mom, traffic stops, and munchies that never stop; there are a ton of ways to kill your high, your day - heck, even your life. Luckily for you, we’ve been there - so hopefully, you don’t have to! To spare killing your vibe, our IG community shares the top situations to avoid while high. 
1.Overthinking 

Are you familiar with the term ‘buzz-kill’? Well, it probably originated from overthinking. Nothing ruins a perfectly reasonable situation like an anxious mind. What is the best way to combat your thoughts when you find yourself in the thick of them? Meditation. Learning to quiet your thoughts is like a muscle, so you need to keep exercising it, but we promise it's possible! Cannabis can be a great tool to help calm those anxious thoughts if you find the right strain that works for you. Another tip to avoid overthinking is to find entertaining movies or books. Distractions can be a good thing!

 2. Use your phone - especially to call or text your ex

This usually happens after overthinking (avoid #1, and you will likely steer clear of this situation). When is a good time to contact your ex? Well, if your ex is anything like ours, then the answer is NEVER, but especially not while you’re high! It is easy to avoid if you 1) lose their number, 2) stay off social media, or 3) find a cutie to join you at 4:20 pm. We recommend to just avoid your phone at all costs while you partake in your sesh. Try turning it on airplane mode so you can live in the moment. Just remember to turn it back on and call your mother when you're not too high!

3. Drive

This one should be self-explanatory. You’ve seen the signs, ‘Drive High, Get a DUI.’ Besides the illegal and unsafe part, driving high could get you lost, scared, hurt, confused, or all of the above if you end up at your exes house (see #1 and #2 for further help). Instead, we recommend to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride using Uber or Lyft.

4. Drink

A cross-fade is the intersection where alcohol meets cannabis, and it can be a dangerous road to trek. Even the most experienced smokers can be brought down by mixing the two. If you dislike being dizzy, nauseous, sick, or having multiple senses impaired, we advise keeping your weed separate from your whiskey.

5. Shop

Did you really need that giant pizza floaty you bought last week? Cannabis can indeed impair your judgment, which is why it’s best to avoid shopping when you’re high. The temptation can be hard with online shopping so easily accessible, but we recommend keeping items in your cart until your high wears off so you can reassess your choices before you spend. Beware of grocery shopping as well! Once the munchies kick in, your brain may try to persuade you to buy anything and everything at the store. To avoid going home with the entire candy aisle, keep your pantry and fridge stocked with healthy snacks that require minimal preparation. If you avoid situations #3 and #4 above, you will likely avoid this one too.
